Ruth Gonzalez Wickham
Having served as Miss Santa Cruz County 2006 and Miss San Mateo County 2008, Ruth earned preliminary and non-finalist talent awards at Miss California for her vocal performances and is thrilled to bring the Miss San Luis Obispo County competition back to the Central Coast. The recipient of over $8,000 in scholarship for her higher education, Ruth knows first hand the amazing and positive impact the Miss America Organization has on young women's lives and their higher education.
An alumna of San Jose State University, where she studied Hospitality, Event, Tourism, and Recreation Management, and a Santa Cruz native, Ruth is now a small business owner, hair dresser, and salon owner of The Studio Hair & Nail Bar in downtown San Luis Obispo. She is married, loves her two dogs- Duke & Duffy, and resides in the quaint rustic town of Santa Margarita. Ruth is delighted and honored to serve the Miss San Luis Obispo County Scholarship Association, it's worthy cause, and it's candidates.
Jennifer Peracchi Harmon
As a Woman Entrepreneur in Agriculture and Produce Food Safety Specialist, Jennifer Peracchi Harmon has a well-developed understanding of the produce industry with experience in marketing, logistics, packaging, production, supply chain management and food safety. Most recently, Peracchi Harmon has been working in produce food safety advising, training and assisting growers and packers of fresh produce with their food safety programs and third party audit readiness.
Founder and President of Food Safety Resource, LLC, Harmon provides much needed resources to the produce industry. In 2016, she was selected to present the Food Safety Resources software at the Produce Marketing Association Tech Knowledge Symposium for new produce technology.
A Fresno native, Harmon grew up influenced by agriculture since her ancestors all were involved in farming in some capacity. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Technical Studies with a Marketing Concentration. Harmon volunteers with P.E.O., San Luis Obispo Womenade, the San Luis Obispo Food Bank and the San Luis Coastal Unified School District.
During college, Harmon met her husband, David, also a Fresno native. They have two beautiful daughters, seven-year-old Olivia and two-year-old Stefani. In June 2017, Peracchi Harmon had her first exposure to the Miss America Organization as a Miss California Judge and is delighted to be a part of the Miss San Luis Obispo County Scholarship Association Board of Directors and Committee.
An American raised abroad, Alexandra grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia where she studied at Herzen University. Upon completion of her studies she moved to the beautiful Mediterranean city of Marbella, Spain to study Spanish.
After returning to America, she began working at MINDBODY, Inc. as a Technical Support
Specialist for Russian and Spanish speaking clients, and later transitioned into Product
Development where she currently works as a Software Test Engineer and an advocate for
women in Tech.
A resident of San Luis Obispo, she and her husband own a construction company and are raising their two children. She is thrilled and honored to serve on the Miss San Luis Obispo County Scholarship Association Board of Directors and Committee.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo graduate Andrew Wickham has been a community leader on the Central Coast for over 10 years. During college he was a leader for philanthropic and social events both in his fraternity and the many clubs he was part of. He even competed in Mr. Fraternity 2011, so he has his own personal pageant experience singing “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” in front of a packed auditorium.
Although Andrew's schooling and early career were focused on Mechanical Engineering, early on in his career he made the transition to marketing. He has an intuitive knack for finding the value in specific products and people so that their benefit and message can be delivered in an effective manner. Throughout his career he’s held various positions leading Go-To-Market Strategy teams and product marketing for different multi-million dollar organizations.
On the Central Coast, Andrew's community and fitness experience has made him an integral part of the local strength and conditioning community. In 2016 he started SLO Strong, the premier strength sport team and promotion organization on the Central Coast. Not only has he orchestrated multiple strongman and powerlifting events locally, but he also accomplished the astounding feat of winning California’s Strongest Man in 2017 in Huntington Beach.
Andrew resides in the small town of Santa Margarita (population 1200) with his wife and their two Bloodhound-Coonhound dogs, Duke and Duffy. When not working or lifting heavy things, he also enjoys Giants baseball and off-roading in his Jeep Wrangler. Andrew is thrilled to be a part of the Miss San Luis Obispo County Scholarship Association and to continue to give back to the community he loves.
Having served in the military and spent most of his life in the fitness industry, Robby McLaughlin has vast knowledge and experience in healthy living, commitment, and hard work. Growing up in San Luis Obispo, Robby started his fitness journey at a very young age learning the ins and outs of what it takes to become strong, fit, and healthy.
Immediately after high school, Robby joined the army for a five year commitment, completing two years in Iraq where he was appointed Lead Trainer for soldiers preparing for missions and to pass the Army's physical fitness test. Returning back home to the Central Coast, Robby became a nuclear security officer at Diablo Canyon Power Plant and also continued his education in health and fitness obtaining many certifications and competing in a wide variety of fitness competitions. Now Owner and Lead Trainer of his very own gym, Headstrong Fit, Robby is leading the Central Coast on bridging the gap between human performance and proper movement to create balanced and healthy individuals.
With 20 years of experience and knowledge, Robby is pursuing his dream to help others overcome their health obstacles and achieve their fitness and wellness goals. As a San Luis Obispo native and Veteran, Robby is proud to be a part of the Miss San Luis Obispo County Scholarship Association to help provide his community with scholarship funds, professional development, and community service.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Jamie moved to San Luis Obispo County in 1999 and now calls the Central Coast home. Wife and mom to four kiddos, there is never a dull moment in her home! Jamie loves powerlifting, yoga, and eating! She owns Vivacious Beauty, offering a safer beauty option for your air-brush tanning, skin care, and makeup needs! Jamie believes in enhancing your natural beauty the safer way and is able to provide this to the Central Coast and Bay Area through Vivacious Beauty. Jamie is thrilled to serve as a committee member of the Miss San Luis Obispo County Scholarship Association and to serve her community she now calls home.
A Central Coast native, Ashley Kantner is also a small business owner and former Rodeo Princess. The proprietor of The Queen's Court, a private nail studio in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo, Ashley specializes in all types of nail services. Ashley also has many years of experience with FFA and mock trial. When she isn't watching baseball games with her husband, you can find her enjoying the gorgeous outdoors of the Central Coast or picnicking and wine tasting with friends. Ashley is excited to join the Miss San Luis Obispo County Scholarship Association and provide scholarship assistance to future generations of San Luis Obispo County.
Heidi is a Central Coast native who has lived in several parts of the country and now resides in Arroyo Grande with her 2 daughters & husband. She was Mrs. Missouri 2003 and was then crowned Mrs. America 2004 (as Heidi Dinan). Heidi loves pageants, public speaking, empowering everyone she meets to follow their hearts and dreams and give every day their best. One of Heidi's greatest passions is to use the megaphone she was given to help develop and inspire others to find their megaphones and to use what gifts they've been given to shine bright and serve others through their abilities and passions. When not at work at CalTrans, Heidi enjoys speaking at Toastmasters and singing in her church choir. She is also a licensed medical esthetician and children's author. Heidi is thrilled to join the Miss San Luis Obispo County Scholarship committee and to have her pageant expertise as well as her guidance on public speaking, makeup & hair, and posture & poise.
